LATEST ARRIVAL......OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY (OCT)

Quick, safe and informative--this new Eye scanner is a glimpse into the future of patient care... ... It gives live cross sections magnified slices of various structures of the eye, giving a better insight in the treatment of the eye disease.

RETINAL OCT
Optical Coherence Tomography, “OCT” for short is a non-invasive technology used for imaging the retina, the multi-layered sensory tissue lining the back of the eye, is revolutionizing the early detection and treatment of eye conditions such as macular holes, pre-retinal membranes, macular swelling and even optic nerve damage.

Similar to CT scans of internal organs, OCT uses the optical backscattering of light to rapidly scan the eye and describe a pixel representation of the anatomic layers within the retina. Each of these ten important layers can be differentiated and their thickness can be measured.

Having the ability to follow-up certain retinal conditions with serial OCT studies has greatly enhanced our quality of patient care.

GLAUCOMA OCT
The Glaucoma module of the OCT helps in the better understanding and management of the glaucoma. OCT is one of the advanced tools to early detect glaucoma as early as 20% damage.

ANTERIOR SEGMENT OCT
Pachymetry, angle measurement and epithelium/LASIK flap measurement makes the CAM option a valuable imaging tool. The CAM option extends the RTVue clinical functionality to include:

  • LASIK Flap Pachymetry Map

  • Keratoconus Analysis

  • TISA 500 / AOD Angle Measurement
  • Epithelium / Lasik Flap Measurement Angle

  • Measurement Anterior Lens Assessment

  • Phakic IOL Vault Measurement

  • Shunt / Implant Imaging
  • Foreign Body Documentation

  • Surgical / Pathology Scar Monitoring

My experience at Kenia Eye Hospital has been a delight. Right from the place, to people and to the laser equipment will not make you feel like your heading into an “Operation” theatre. I was barely preparing myself to go under the knife, then I realized there is no knife it’s all done through laser and its over in a jiffy, 20 mins of process and a lifetime of pleasure.

I am thankful to all the doctors at Kenia Eye Hospital namely Dr. Vaishal, Dr. Amin and all the staff nurses. They are doing a great job! Many people out there who are bound by spectacles can breathe a sigh of relief! Just come here and experience a new way of looking at things. It’s simply astonishing and a gift.

The surgery was not actually a surgery it was just laser treatment, where we have to just concentrate on two lights which is of two colour (i.e.) red and green. Before surgery Dr. Vaishal had make comfortable by explaining the procedure which helps me to boost my confidence. The Lasik surgery has given me a new vision to my life.

TESTIMONIAL

I am Ferin P. Vora, I had undergone laser number correction surgery (LASIK) in the month of June 2007. For me it was new experience and I was frightened a bit, but after it was done I was relaxed and free from wearing spectacles. Since then I have no problems with my eyes.
I would like to say thanks to Dr. Vaishal Kenia, without his support and guidance it was never easy to undergone this surgery.

TESTIMONIALS

Myself, Mr. Chetan Chheda, 37 year old using lens for several years about 20 or more years but I was not happy with the limitation of vision and wearing glasses for long hours. It was also very difficult to take care of contact lenses, but when I came to know about the LASER CORRECTION TREATEMENT without waiting a single minute I approach Dr. Vaishal Kenia for the same. He had explained me about procedure and cleared my each and every doubt. I also approached few of friends and neighbour who had already undergone the laser treatment. It helps me to gain my confidence and one fine day I get operated at Radiance Laser Vision Center.

It was such wonderful experience at “Radiance Laser Vision Center”, I had followed all the pre and post operative instruction given by Dr. Vaishal Kenia. The operation theater is also well equipped back by the very well experience surgeon like Dr. Vaishal Kenia. I came out as a winner…. I get back my normal sight and now I can enjoy clear and undistorted vision which was not possible before …… my dream come true….

Many Many….. thanks to Dr. Vaishal Kenia and his team ….. keep up the good work.

FULL STOP SURGERY

Why do I want to choose a MIL for my patient?
Really does it justify, really is it worth are the questions which I asked myself.
Never before it was possible, to do a complete cataract surgery thru, less than 2 mm wound, thus bringing the cataract surgery to a new level and the procedure known as MICS - Microincision cataract surgery.
MIL is truly, a new generation advanced optic lens. MIL has changed the way of cataract surgery. It is possible to do cataract surgery thru less than 2 mm -"punctures". Thus making the incision smaller, more stronger and secure with less chances of infection.

AKREOS AO MICRO INCISION LENS
Smaller incisions or "punctures", which are rapid healers and self sealing wounds thus any mechanical compression to the eyeball does not result in eyeball collapse or opening of wounds, so microincision surgery entails not only strength, stability but also more safety than the common foldable phaco lens.

Earlier wound healing means visual recovery to 100%, the same day person is back to normalcy and routine activity. Can we imagine watching movies, television, computers, mobile usage, kitchen work, virtually normal life within hours of surgery, making cataract surgery simpler, easy and hassle free.

MIL lens design recently has been awarded the "GOLD award" for design excellence. The lens technically centres very well, resists the capsular biomechanical stress as it has a special absorption zones built in the lens haptic. This feature of the lens is unique unlike the other Micro incisions lenses, which over years "wrinkle" inside the eye as unable to withstand the capsular stress.

The image quality of MIL is exceptional due to aspheric nature of the lens, aberration free optics and the antiglare technology, thus making night vision and low light illumination far superior then conventional lenses.
This lens is of soft acrylic material and is safe, biocompatible and has good elasticity and flexibility to squeeze past thru a sub 2mm incision with the help of a special injection device.
Special 360o square edge of the lens, help to keep away the lens epithelial opacifications behind the lens optics, thus the clarity of the optics is not compromised for long.

When I first did MICS with MIL, about one and half years back, I was one of early few in the world, to have an opportunity to insert the MIL, I was shear amazed by not only the lens design, technology but more so, the ease with which it squeezed past a 1.8 mm puncture wound and the ability of the lens to unfold in the eye and self center. To my mind, MIL from Bausch and Lomb is a lens genius and truly a "IOL innovation empowering" the quality of vision. A huge leap in the visual enhancement technology.
